AOV Doors

SHEVs (Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilation) or AOVs are critical parts of any buildings fire safety requirements. AOVs allow you to integrate automatic doors, using actuators, to offer a source of ventilation which builds into an optimised fire safety system. They are designed to be trigged by smoke or heat as part of a detection system. In the event of a fire, smoke is often the larger threat than the fire itself, causing difficulties for those fighting the fire and those trying to evacuate. As AOVs automatically open and are built into the most structurally sound parts of the building, AOVs allow the smoke to rise above escape routes, giving improved visibility, and allowing quick and easy access to the building. This means earlier firefighting, better safety and reduced damage to the building.

After fabricating AOV windows for several years, we are proud to announce that we can now offer a fully tested and complaint SHEV Door. Offered to EN12101-2 as part of our AOV range, the AOV Door enables previously unusable areas to be utilised as AOVs such as entrance ways to rooftops. This door combines maintenance access with the AOV capabilities and is sure to be of use on projects you’re looking at.
